GCSE Media: Teenage heartbreak Queen

As preparation for the practical component of my GCSE Media Studies qualification, I conducted a practice Music Marketing brief which required me to create a pop music video with a maximum length of 2 minutes and 30 seconds where I had to cut the track short so that I could fit within the time limit. I was limited to using songs by other artists without their own music videos, and was required to create under a pseudonym for data protection reasons by my exam board. My design choices are explained and underpinned by theory in the documents linked to the Planning Docs button, and the impacts of the pandemic and lockdowns on my filming are fully explored within. This video was created from home during the initial 2020 lockdown and to comply with regulations I adopted a ‘found footage’ style, repurposing videos of my own inspired by the Love Actually (2003) wedding montage.
