Shoot Spotlight: Behind The Scenes

The photos in this series offer an insight into what goes on behind the scenes to make the musical experience we know and love possible, following sound engineers through a shift managing load in and sound checks, artists through their set up, and press through the reality of the video-interview process. From small details like setting up backdrops, refining set ups, and framing the perfect shot, to an interview itself and the final run through, these pictures offer an insight into the reality of grassroots music, and some representation to the unsung heroes making live music happen.

Thanks to Glenn Stephens, Ellie West, Ani Asks, and Jazzcat, for their participation in this photo series and offering me access to the unseen elements of their roles.

‘Wolfgang’s powerful and emotive voice on ‘Distance’ was joined by a room packed with fans providing spontaneous backing vocals, with many in the audience brought to tears. The combined musical talents of Mammoth WVH’s live band produced a richness of sound that paralleled that of the studio recordings, their subtle harmonies and chemistry as a unit bringing an added depth and electricity to their performance.’

- Lotty Evans on Mammoth WVH’s headline performance for 2470 (photo review)
